YAC SWIMMING Non-Profit Youth Organization
Dear Community Leaders,
Participation in competitive swimming requires commitment to a challenging lifestyle. The members of Yakima aquatic club are highly motivated. Our athletes range in age from grade school to college. Members learn skills that include goal setting, time management, nutrition, as well as stroke and racing technique. YAC program also gives children the opportunity to learn about accountability and responsibility for themselves and for their team. Depending on the age of the swimmer, practice and competition can involve over 300 days each year. During practice, the older team members, swim farther before 6:00 AM than most Americans will walk all day. Despite the rigors of training, many of our participants maintain grade point averages above 3.5. Our swimmers have achieved high standards, making time cuts for Western Zones, Jr. Nationals, Nationals and Olympic Trials.
The YAC program is much more than an after-school activity for kids. Since 1991, YAC has provided an environment, which allows Yakima Valley youth to pursue fitness and excellence at swimming. Unlike many city or county-sponsored youth activities, we lack the benefit of tax support. However, like any organization, we have expenses for facilities, staff, and equipment. We use sponsorships and fund raising to help offset some of our operating expenses. Our annual facility expense alone requires the monthly fees from 15 swimmers for 12 months. YAC is currently seeking sponsors for the 2006-2007 season.
YAC is a non-profit organization, which was organized in 1991 to provide competitive swimming for the youth of the Yakima Valley. It holds a 501(c)(3) status from the IRS so some of your contribution may be tax deductible. Its Federal ID number is 91-1531760. 100% of your contribution will remain with the club.
Thank you for your consideration and time. We hope you can help us reach our goals.
Sincerely, YAC Swim Team athletes
