YAC Swimming Parent Guide
TEAM COLORS - Our official team colors are purple (primary) and green (secondary). They are occasionally highlighted with white or black.
TEAM SUITS AND GEAR - We recommend all participants wear goggles. Team caps are required for competition. Team caps are available from coach Lexie. Contact Coach Lexie for a team suit.
ADMINISTRATION - YAC Swimming is a coach run swim club and a non-profit organization affiliated with USA Swimming, the national governing body of competitive swimming in America. Our committee system and board of directors invites parents to participate in the club funding operations.
MEETS - Competition is not mandatory but encourages for all swimmers.
MEET ENTRIES - All meet entries are completed by our coaches. Most meets require entries 2-3 weeks in advance. Please return the meet intents promptly. There is no penalty for failing to attend and entered meet but your entry fees are forfeited and you may be responsible for extra relay fees.
MEET INTENTS AND DEADLINES - Forms are distributed to athletes to indicate their option to attend a meet. The forms are labeled "Meet Intent." If an athlete wishes to compete the intent must be signed by a parent and returned to a coach by the deadline.
NEWSLETTER - YAC Swimming publishes its own newsletter once monthly. You will receive your copy with your monthly statement. It contains articles and information about our team.
SWIM-A-THON - Our primary fund raising event of the year. It is one of only two fund raising programs we do and all families are required to participate. Sponsorship request being in December and the actual event is on President's Day each February.

USA SWIMMING - This is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States. Athletes competing with YAC Swimming are USA Swimming members under the jurisdiction of Inland Empire Swimming (IES), a local administrative unit of USA Swimming.
